Checking out
Bad attitude of staff, reception girl surly, staff to busy talking to serve us in the bar, old unkempt rooms, staff eating on duty, cokes breakfast at reception, girl eating as we are checking out. Poor choice of food on menu, badly presented, dirty chi Ed plates etc etc etc..

Absolutely fantastic breakfast with lots of outstanding foods. Unbeatable and stunning traditional hotel location not far from centre of Stockbridge, a conservatory surrounded by an a pleasant garden, and the restaurant and bar. Also, in the refreshed public areas.

Too hot in the room, the very hot bathroom radiator could not be switched off. The kettle had to be plugged in at floor level, because with the other sockets there was nowhere to stand the kettle. There appeared to be a shortage of staff in the restaurant at breakfast time.

The recepcionist
Too expensive for a very basic room and have to wait to give breakfast. Plus, you feel claustrofobic going to those narrows corridors after 5 doors...

The hotel was quiet & comfortable. The food was very good and the village of Stockbridge has an excellent varirty og good quality shops.
The bar and restaurant staff (3 in total) appeared to be doing everything. Some more staff would certainly help in these areas.

The bed was very comortable and the room and bathroom very clean. The bar was pleasent and breakfast was just right for us. Check in and out was fast and efficient.
the shower control valve was faulty more water was comming out of the taps then the shower head reported to reception on check out. The tea making facilties were good but no plug for the kettle had to use the plug by the T.V. or the ones by the bed having to put the kettle on the floor to boil up.
